Serving more than 200,000 residents, the Regional Water Quality Control Plant (RWQCP) treats 25 million gallons of wastewater each day, removing 99% of the biological pollution that would otherwise enter the Bay. Operated by the City of Palo Alto for the East Palo Alto Sanitary District and the cities of Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Mountain View, Palo Alto, and Stanford, the RWQCP also maintains business and residential programs that prevent water pollution.
